There are many legacy systems that are voluminous and require extensive study and maintainence. They lead to a scenario where developers are forced to write lengthy pages of codes. The overall process is time-consuming and tedious.
However, Modernization provides a solution by upgrading a legacy application into EdgeReady Cloud Objects. This greatly enables the ease of transitions from a tedious legacy system to a much simplified version of the Objects.
Modernization thus refers to the conversion of objects belonging to legacy systems into EdgeReady Cloud Objects (ERC Objects), which are used to build applications in the EdgeReady Cloud Platform.
Modernization - THE SAP ABAP MODERNIZER
First step in the modernization process is the discovery and Identification of SAP ABAP Custom Objects that needs attention.
The Mapping Technique:
Modernization helps customers to migrate the SAP ABAP Custom Objects into EdgeReady Cloud Platform. The Modernization module guides how each code-snippet is mapped within the ERC Platform and generates detailed reports.
Modernization cycle follows the stages:
- Discovery Phase - where SAP Objects are identified and their EdgeReady equivalents (Objects and Types) are generated.
- Upload and Download the discovered objects into the EdgeReady DB.
- Modernize the custom objects by the mapping technique.
- Post Modernization (Coming Soon)
